What We Believe About the Christian Faith

Background texture

The Scriptures

We believe in the divine authority and plenary (absolute, complete) inspiration of the Holy Bible, consisting of sixty-six (66) books, as originally given (2 Tim. 3:16; 2 Peter 1:21); the complete revelation of His will for the salvation of man, and that they are the supreme and final authority in Christian faith and life.
Youth at a gathering, eyes closed and hands raised, express emotion and connection, highlighting the event's communal and spiritual significance.

The True God

We believe that there is one, and only one living and true God, whose name is Jehovah, the Maker and Supreme Ruler of heaven and earth; inexpressibly glorious in holiness, and worthy of all possible honor, praise, confidence, and love; that in the unity of the Godhead, there are eternally existing three persons, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit; (2 Cor. 13:14; Matt. 28:19; James 1:1) equal in every divine perfection, and executing distinct but harmonious offices in the great work of redemption.
We believe that Jesus Christ, the only begotten Son of God, was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary; that in Him perfect humanity and deity is found in one person; that He is the only mediator between God and man; that He was crucified on the cross and his blood was shed for the sins of all mankind to fulfill the requirement of God and of the law; that He was bodily-raised from the dead, ascended into heaven and will return to earth imminently and bodily according to his promise, to judge the living and the dead.

The Fall of Man

We believe in the fall of man from God’s grace, caused by the sin of Adam, which brought consequent total depravity on all mankind. As sinners, men are in need of regeneration (Romans 3:10, 5:12). We believe man was created in the image of God (Genesis 1:27), that he sinned, and thereby incurred not only physical death (Genesis 3:19), but also spiritual death, which is separation from God (Genesis 3:23,24). We believe all human beings are born with a sinful nature. (Ephesians 2:1-5; Psalms 58:3)

The Way of Salvation

We believe in the atonement through the substitutionary death of Christ (Mark 10:45).  We believe Jesus Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures as a representative and substitutionary sacrifice (1 Peter 3:18); that by God’s grace, penitent sinners who believe in Christ are justified by faith on the grounds of His shed blood (Romans 3:24-26; Acts 13:39).

Regeneration and Sanctification

We believe in regeneration by the Holy Spirit (1 Peter 1:23-24; James 1:18) and the doctrine of sanctification (Hebrews 12:14; 1 Peter 1:2). We believe that all who receive the Lord Jesus Christ by faith are born again of the Holy Spirit and thereby become children of God and are set apart for God and His service. (John 3:3; Romans 12:1).

The World to Come

We believe that there shall be a bodily resurrection of the saved; that we shall be with Christ for eternal life, and that all unbelievers shall endure eternal punishment under the judgment of God in the Lake of Fire. (Revelation 20:15)
